Blind and visually impaired people routinely encounter situations requiring sight - reading an expiry date, navigating an unfamiliar environment, identifying a document. Without immediate assistance, these moments create dependency and limit independent living. MVGYOSZ, the National Association for the Blind and Partially Sighted, needed a scalable, on-demand service providing visual assistance wherever and whenever needed without requiring physical help.

E-Group built Remote Eye (Távszem) on MOBIX - the same secure real-time communication platform as Kontakt - and operates it in E-Group's private secure cloud with 24/7 availability. A blind user opens the app and points their smartphone camera at whatever they need help with. A trained operator sees through the camera in real time and responds: reading a label, expiry date, street sign, or form. No specialist hardware - just a smartphone. The service is GDPR-certified. Distinctively, the operators providing the service are themselves people with disabilities - making the platform both assistive technology and a model of inclusive employment.

Remote Eye gives blind and visually impaired users real-time visual information on demand making routine tasks manageable independently. Over 5,000 registered users rely on the service. In 2020, it won the Audience Award for Social Innovation - recognition earned from the public, not granted by institutions. The choice to staff the service with operators who are themselves disabled creates something beyond technology: a community in which people with different disabilities support one another.
