On October 24-25, 2024, the IPCEI-CIS Industrial Steering Committee (Industry Facilitation Group) held its meeting in Budapest. The event was hosted by E-GROUP, represented by Antal Kuthy, a member of the FG.
Within the framework of the IPCEI-CIS program, a €3.5 billion investment is being implemented across Europe. The program is among the European Commission’s flagship projects. Its goal is to create a technological excellence that addresses the technological challenges of the EU Cloud and Edge Continuum, based on competitiveness and excellence. The program’s work is carried out by four working groups, with the participation of 19 direct and 90 indirect partners. This industry’s elite club in cloud and edge technologies plays a pivotal role in establishing a European sovereign digital cloud and edge computing infrastructure, as well as in creating a so-called “smart processing” technology layer that supports the generation of data, data spaces, and federated artificial intelligence knowledge.
The Budapest meeting was attended by the FG members, who are also the leaders of the four IPCEI-CIS working groups, as well as the head of the IPCEI-CIS coordination office in Germany. During the two-day meeting, they reviewed the status of the IPCEI-CIS program, the integrated program of more than 100 industrial partner projects, and identified the tasks for the upcoming period.
